Creating engaging online content using Film and Photography

This workshop is designed to develop skills and knowledge for business growth. The workshops are delivered by leading academics and consultants from the Goldsmiths community, who have adapted these programmes specifically for business.

Whether you’re using your phone or professional hardware, a well-designed workflow is key to producing exciting content. In this course we’ll look at methods and techniques for working with film and photographic media to improve engagement with your audience. How to post, host, and steam on social media platforms effectively and efficiently, all while leaving time to run your business.

Learning outcome: Part 1 – Film production/editing

  • Pre-production – From Hardware to Shot lists and schedules. Getting the most out of what you’ve got, or what’s best to use, it’s all in the planning!
  • Shooting – Location Management to B-Roll and Cutaways. Getting the right shots and managing the media is an essential part of the production process.
  • Post Production. Software to Streaming and Distribution. Now you’ve created your masterpiece you need to get it out there! Mastering, encoding, and uploading, the final stages.

Tutor Biography:

Jake Strickland is a Digital Strategist with an MSc in Digital Sociology. Jake has a passion for translating digital technology into a language its users can understand. Working as a Business Development Manager for Cloud Providers to Schools, Jake is a reflective and responsive practitioner who is acutely aware not only of current technologies but also their application to the settings we are working in.
