Guest blog: how DeK Growth Programme helped my business

Enterpreneur Natasha Melbourne-Telfer explains how DeK helped her film production business, Creative Core Carribbean, with marketing and promotion.

"Being on the DeK scheme has boosted my confidence immensely, and given me much needed hope that I can make a success of the business."
- Natasha, Creative Core Carribbean

My company is called Creative Core Caribbean, and we are a creative consultancy and film production company aimed at helping Caribbean and UK registered businesses trading in the Caribbean with business marketing and promotion.

I joined DeK Growth Programme because I wanted to improve my understanding of running a business, and how I could successfully grow it. I needed to learn more about the inner workings of how I could build a solid creative company for a global market, and build a company with a solid foundation.

I’ve enjoyed every step of the programme, especially meeting and collaborating with other micro companies like mine on a number of creative projects.

"I would definitely recommend the programme to other SMEs, and I have done already."

Being on the DeK scheme has boosted my confidence immensely, and given me much needed hope that I can make a success of the business. Through the tailored mentorship, I have had the confidence to reposition and review the original business model and ask for help with this rather challenging task.

"The programme aids SMEs on so many levels, no matter the stage of the business. The facilitators, professors, and mentors have always been so helpful, well versed in business, and above all, positive about my business, especially in this particular time of economic uncertainty. "

Being accepted on the programme has been one of my best achievements to date, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing my company grow. And this has been in part, down to the kind, professional and dedicated team at DeK, the tailored support, and access to the informative workshops, which is definitely helping me a great deal on this journey to building a business.

Tailored support is a value service from DeK.

I would definitely recommend the programme to other SMEs, and I have done already. A friend of mine runs her own business, and I suggested that she apply to the scheme.

The main reason for my recommendation was that the programme aids SMEs on so many levels, no matter the stage of the business. The facilitators, professors, and mentors have always been so helpful, well versed in business, and above all, positive about my business, especially in this particular time of economic uncertainty. So, I feel very fortunate to have had this once in a lifetime experience and be able to make a real difference to the lives of others through my creative services.

I’m very glad to confirm that my friend was accepted, and I believe DeK will have an important impact on her business, as it has done on mine.

My sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone at DeK, and I’m very proud to be associated with this wonderful programme."
